Inauguration Day for the New Academic Year: Skill Training Programmes at Sahayini

The inauguration of the new academic year (April 2018–2019) for the ITES and Web Designing Skill Training Programmes was held on April 18, 2018, at the Sahayini Social Development Society, Wadala. The programme commenced at 9:30 AM, attended by the management, staff, and 55 students. The event began with a prayer service, followed by the inaugural speech delivered by Sr. Moksha Mary (Director, Sahayini). Mr. Bernard D’Souza (Trainer) presented a video highlighting Sahayini’s activities, and Mr. Premsagar Bagade (Mobilizer) served as the Master of Ceremonies. Sr. Hilda Braganza (Superior, MYC – Wadala) gave a brief synopsis of the centre’s work. Former student Mr. Ejaz Khan shared his success story, recounting the benefits he received from Sahayini. An energizer session on laughter, led by Sr. Rosaline Pereira (Project Coordinator, Sahayini VTC), helped de-stress the students, followed by a fun activity where Mr. D’Souza guided them in making a "thinking cap" from newspaper. The students also enjoyed dancing to music. Guests for the programme included Ms. Chaand Jagasia (Intern) and Ms. Hiramani Wadhio (Counsellor) from the Tech Mahindra Foundation. Ms. Jagasia advised students on updating their Google and Facebook accounts, while Ms. Wadhio introduced herself as the counsellor who would visit the centre every Wednesday. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr. James D’Souza (Centre Manager).
