Exposure Visit to CORP in Thane

A group of 22 young women from Sahayini - Wadala and Anmol After Care Home - Koparkhairane visited the Community Outreach Program (CORP) in Thane, a non-profit NGO, on August 19, 2017. The group was accompanied by Sr. Moksha Anthonappa, Sr. Catherine Fernandes, Sr. Jaya Rodrigues, and two members from Nirmala Niketan. CORP runs various initiatives across Mumbai city, including crèches, day care centers, shelter homes, vocational training, support for the differently-abled, health awareness, and senior citizen outreach. After lunch, the women toured the CORP initiatives and interacted with trainers and trainees involved in underprivileged women empowerment projects like "I WAS A SARI" and "PASHU PAKSHI," both social ventures spearheaded by Stefano Funari. The visitors were impressed by the mutual reciprocity and coordination observed within the organization. Participant Ms. Ashwini Naik concluded the visit by thanking Mrs. Savita Drago, the Supervisor and Co-ordinator, and the entire NGO staff for their warmth, generosity, and the invaluable learning experience.
