Sessions by Women and Child Welfare Department

The Women and Child Welfare Department conducted relevant sessions for 30 SHG women on August 19, 2017, at the Pokhran Gram Panchayat Hall. The event was made possible by Sr. Vandana Malya, Social Ministry Co-ordinator at Auxilium Girls Promotion Centre, Oros. The resource persons were Mr. Bhujang Bhosle (Women Protection Officer for Sindhudurg) and Mr. Umesh More (Child Protection Officer for Sindhudurg).

Mr. Bhosle addressed the widespread issue of Domestic Violence, elaborating on four major areas of occurrence. He detailed the legal provisions and welfare schemes available for women's protection. Mr. More discussed the Four Fundamental Rights of Children, urging the women to actively protect these rights. He also outlined various government welfare schemes designed to protect children from harm. The sessions concluded with an interactive Q&A, a vote of thanks delivered by Mrs. Vinaya Kadam, and the distribution of informative pamphlets on available schemes.
