📅 August 23, 2017 • 📍 Maria Bhavan-Bableshwar

A two-day workshop on Self Help Group (SHG) Management Training and Livelihood Training was held for 35 SHG women at Maria Bhavan-Bableshwar.

Day 1 (August 23, 2017): SHG Management Training.
The program began with registration and tea. Participants, who each received a notebook and pen, were addressed by Mr. Subhash Shirsath, DRD Assistant Officer from Ahmednagar. Mr. Shirsath used a video clipping to discuss the country's economic scenario and the highly concentrated distribution of wealth, challenging the women to initiate change in their lives. Topics covered included awareness of fraudulent schemes, group strengthening, criteria for forming groups, operational norms, the need for unity, available Government Schemes and Resources, and management tips. The women appreciated the informative and engaging program and expressed their expectation for regular updates, with guidance and support from Maria Bhavan in accessing government schemes.

Day 2 (August 24, 2017): SHG Livelihood Training.
Following registration and breakfast, Mr. Imran Khan, a businessman also from Ahmednagar, served as the resource person to equip the women with skills in making phenol, detergent powder, and liquid soap. Mr. Khan provided practical, straightforward explanations and demonstrations, which the women then replicated themselves. He also covered essential business skills such as product marketing, pricing, material availability, and the necessary acumen to achieve self-sufficiency. The participants concluded the workshop with valuable knowledge, practical skills, and self-made products to demonstrate their future plans to their families. The women expressed sincere gratitude to Maria Bhavan and Sahayini for organizing the programs.
