📅 October 14, 2017 • 📍 Ahmednagar

On October 14, 2017, children from the five project schools celebrated Diwali with Crompton Greaves (CG) volunteers, Sr. Collette Gonsalves (Project Coordinator), and their teachers. The celebration continued on October 16, 2017, with Neighbourhood Children's Parliament (NCP) and coaching class children in Don Bosco Colony, Pimpalgaon, Shivacha Mala, and Jehur village. On both days, the children enjoyed various competitions, including fort making, greeting cards, and Aksha Kandil making. In each school, the CG volunteers spoke about the importance of Diwali and how the children should be a "light" in their families, spreading light through kind words and good deeds. The Laura Vicuna Sisters, along with Sr. Collette, went to each village to judge the children’s artwork. Sr. Collette also spoke about the significance of Diwali. The programs concluded with the bursting of some crackers and the distribution of snacks.
