Childrenâs Day and World Day of the Poor Celebration in Oros

The long-awaited Childrenâs Day, celebrated alongside the World Day of the Poor, took place on November 19, 2017, with the theme âEmpowering the children for a better societyâ. Around $270$ children from various villages participated at Auxilium Girls Promotion Centre, Oros-Ranbambuli, and were served snacks and refreshments. Various creative fete games were organized in different stalls, managed by the Pre-novices of Pinguli, Youth of Don Bosco Parish, Community College girls, and volunteers from the âEmmaus Disciplesâ community. The inaugural ceremony began at 11:40 AM. Mr. Ramchandra Nare was the Chief Guest, joined by Mrs. Sandhya Parab (Sarpanch), Miss Rachael (Emmaus Disciple Leader), Mr. Shekhar Samant (Tarun Bharat â Editor), Fr. Albano (Principal of Junior College), and Mr. Nareâs family/friends. Mr. Nare emphasized the need for children to grow as good and honest human beings so that society will remember them. Sr. Vandana Malya gave an input session on Child Rights, raising awareness to help them in life. A well-prepared lunch was served at 1:00 PM. The entertainment program included a group dance competition and spot prizes. Sr. Priscilla Travasso, Animator of the Community, presented prizes to the winners and reminded the children that each one is precious and loved by God. The youth and volunteers surprised everyone with a final dance performance. As the children left, they carried sweet packets, prizes, and joyful memories.
