📅 December 27, 2017 • 📍 Mumbai
A training workshop for thirteen Coaching Class Teachers was held at Mazzarello Youth Centre – Wadala from December 27-28, 2017. The training began with a prayer moment led by Sr. Jaya Rodrigues and introductory words from Sr. Moksha Anthonappa, the SSDC - Mumbai. Sr. Hilda Braganza, the Animator of Mazzarello Youth Centre, welcomed the staff. The first session, conducted by Sr. Lavita Sequeira (a qualified and experienced teacher from the formal sector), focused on $10$ tips for effective teaching, including how to be attentive and motivate students towards punctuality and regularity. After lunch, Sr. Catherine Fernandes led a session on the NDF Communication Matrix, clearly explaining their yearly tasks and responsibility to provide the Sahayini office with accurate data and statistics using an LCD Projector. The teachers then worked in groups to plan activities for the coming months and reported back to the assembly. The subsequent session continued with doubts and clarifications regarding the activity planning matrix for the coaching classes. The final session of the first day, led by Ms. Thenmoli Daniel from Sahayini Tech Centre, involved games designed to enhance the teachers' personality and self-awareness. On the second day, Sr. Teresa Joseph used her expertise to conduct a session on Psycho Care, explaining its importance via a PowerPoint Presentation. After lunch, Ms. Thenmoli organized more Personality Development activities through group work, which helped the teachers know themselves and their colleagues better. At 3:00 PM, Sr. Moksha Anthonappa led a "taking forward" session, where teachers shared suggestions and difficulties, and made resolutions for the children's growth. In the oral evaluation, they expressed gratitude for the useful topics that provided new insights. All participants departed after tea and snacks.
