NABARD Workshop on Bio-gas and Free Health Check-ups, Bableshwar

On January 26, 2018, a one-day workshop was organized at Maria Bhavan, Bableshwar, with $100$ women participating. NABARD was invited to conduct the Self Help Group (SHG) Training Workshop on Bio-gas and its benefits for rural development. Mr. Rakesh Pangath, an officer from NABARD, sent Mr. Prasad Khalkar, an award-winning expert in Bio-gas, to conduct the workshop. He discussed the benefits of Bio-gas usage, detailing the types of connections available (mobile and permanent) and their respective advantages. He also introduced available government schemes and explained how women could access them. The women participated in interesting and interactive sessions, learning the details and application procedures. They were also introduced to another scheme offering a Free Health Check-up for early detection of cancer and thyroid, as well as general blood tests. The women departed after lunch, feeling enriched and committed to spreading the word to other women, motivating them to utilize the Bio-gas facility and the free health check-up scheme.
