Training and Leadership Programme in Ahmednagar

The Neighbourhood Children's Parliament (NCP) and Project teachers of L.V. Niwas – Ahmednagar had their one-day training at the Don Bosco Social Centre, Kedgoan, on January 25, 2018. After a moment of prayer, Mrs. Manisha from the Don Bosco School emphasized the importance of being a loving, understanding, and kind teacher, noting that teaching is a noble task that forms and transforms a person. She encouraged them to make lessons interesting using attractive teaching aids. Fr. George SDB, the Director of the Bosco Grahmin Vikas Kendra, spoke on being more effective and trustworthy in their profession, stressing that the children entrusted to them need support and kind words, and that patience leads to better learning. The session was effectively presented through a PowerPoint Presentation. The teachers felt enriched by the end of the day. Thanks were given to Sr. Moksha Antonappa, the Province Social Development Coordinator (SDC), for making this enriching experience possible. On the following day, January 26, fifty-four leaders of the NCP groups from various villages (Jehur, Ujini Pimplegaon, Shivacha Mala, and Don Bosco Colony) attended a leadership programme at the Asha Kiran Institute - Ujini Pimplegaon. The resource person was Sr. Moksha A., the Province SDC. Following a prayerful dance and welcome song, Sr. Moksha taught the importance of good leadership through creative and lively games and songs. She provided tips and messages to help them become effective leaders in their respective groups. Sr. Collette Gonsalves, Coordinator of Social Ministry, spoke about the importance of education and mutual progress. Mr. Yogesh Mirpagare, Supervisor of Social Works, addressed the leaders about discipline. The leaders departed with confidence after a vote of thanks.
