Training on WaSH, Digital Wellness & Exposure visit to the Farm

From 29th to 31st July, Sahayini organized a three-day Social Work Local Coordinators' Training at Dahanu, with the participation of 30 Social workers and local co-ordinators from different centres. The training was designed to build the capacity of coordinators in areas of sustainable farming, WaSH practices, and digital wellness, along with concrete action planning for the future.

Exposure Visit —Organic Farming an exposure visit was arranged to the organic farm of Mrs. Monisha Narke at Umbergoan. Mr. Bharat Mahyavanshi, the farm manager, guided the participants through the processes of organic farming and the functioning of the seed bank. He also shared practical tips to motivate farmers towards adopting organic farming practices.

Session on Wash (Water, Sanitation, Health & Hygiene) Mr. Anand Jagtap, a former BMC employee from Mumbai, conducted an intensive one-and-a-half-day session on WaSH (Water, Sanitation, Health and Hygiene). The session was highly interactive, combining theory with practical approaches.

On 31st July, Dr. Sajith Cyriac, PhD in media Education facilitated a session on Digital Wellness, focusing on the balanced and responsible use of technology in daily life. He highlighted the risks of digital overuse, online safety, and the importance of mindful engagement with digital tools.

Overall Impact: The sessions together enriched the coordinators with knowledge, practical skills, and motivation. They are now better prepared to:
1. Promote sustainable farming for healthier livelihoods.
2. Lead hygiene and sanitation initiatives for improved community health.
3. Educate youth and families on responsible digital practices.
This integrated learning approach empowered the coordinators to return to their centers with a clear vision and actionable plans, positioning them as effective change agents in their respective communities.
