Gift of Bicycles Brings Grateful Smiles to Youngsters in Dahanu

📅 February 14, 2018 • 📍 Dahanu

The daily difficulty of young Adivasi boys and girls walking long distances to reach their workplaces or study centers was alleviated on February 14, 2018. Thanks to financial support from young donors in Turin, thirty-two youngsters were able to ride their newly gifted bicycles with broad smiles. This initiative was a joint effort between the CBCI Office for Dialogue & Ecumenism, the FMA Province of Bombay, and the Community of Auxilium Youth Animation Centre, Dahanu. Special thanks were extended to Sr. Ritha Dora Thomas and Sr. Rita D’Souza for their prompt support; Sr. Meenakshi D’Silva and Mr. Santosh for their expert guidance and coordination with Imperial Cycles; Srs. Mary Anthony and Mangala Kolge for identifying the deserving beneficiaries; Srs. Santana Pereira, Sr. Veronica Fernandes, and Sr. Mariet Luckose for their sisterly support; and Sr. Teresa Joseph for facilitating the distribution of the bicycles to those most in need. The community expressed hope to continue experiencing God’s loving providence as they move forward with their mission.
