Sahayini Social Development Activities

On the 3rd and 4th of July 2023, a Social Ministry coordinators' meeting (sisters and staff) took place in Dahanu. There were 29 participants present, and with the help of the core team, the two-day meeting was well-organized. The resource person Mr. Adrian Rosario spoke on the theme: Better Strategic Planning. He highlighted GAFO and the four Ms, and through various activities and games, he helped the participants to understand how we can plan better and implement it in our field of work. The Bhoomi film was screened, and input sessions were given by Sr. Manisha Parmar.

On the 10th and 12th of July 2023, mentoring visits were conducted by SDC to Dakor and Pansora in Gujarat. An orientation program was organized for social workers and coordinators. On the 27th to 28th of July 2023, visits to Ahmednagar were made, and orientations were conducted for social workers there too.

From the 22nd to the 24th of September 2023, the NCP (Neighbourhood Children’s Parliament) training was organized in Dahanu for sisters, staff, and children leaders from all our centers. The resource persons were from PRATYek NGO.
From the 9th to the 13th of October 2023, mentoring visits were conducted by SDC to the Nandgad center. An orientation program was organized for social workers. SDC visited some Self-Help Groups and interacted with women. It was wonderful to see the progress that women have made in their lives and families.

The 19th Annual Meeting of the National Development Forum was held in Wadala, Mumbai, from the 28th to the 30th of November 2023. There were 24 participants, including SDCs, representative sisters from 7 Provinces, NDF staff, and PCI President Rev. Sr. Meenakshi D'silva. The theme highlighted was Promoting Child Participation and the Right to a Sustainable Environment.
Sahayini has established linkages with like-minded NGOs, local donors, Bosco Net, the GLE organization, and overseas agencies for development projects.
