NDF Environment Stewardship Project

📅 March 31, 2023 • 📍 Dakor, Pansora, Bableshwear, Nandgad and Khedpa

An initiative to be stewards of creation and thus Sahayini Social Development Office is coordinating the same:
The sector has taken up new initiatives to create awareness regarding environment and issues related to it.
Every class thus has taken up to be green in all its endeavors. A sapling was presented instead of a gift.
In Dakor, Pansora, Bableshwear, and Khedpa children were given vegetable seed packets. They were encouraged to have a kitchen garden and along with it a practice to care for it and at large to care for creation.
They are being introduced to small and big ways of conserving environment around themselves.
Cleanliness drive is another initiative carried out by few centers to help the beneficiaries understand the importance of living in a clean and healthy environment.
One of the striking initiatives in connection to was the celebration of - Green Diwali, all the centers made effort to help children understand the real meaning of Diwali and also consequences of bursting crackers. It was edifying to hear that some of them did not burst crackers this Diwali. The centers
avoided the use and throw material and also gave gifts that would last like steel tiffin.
Segregation of waste, reuse of rain water, saving water and food are some of the topics which are dealt with by the educator in every class on a daily basis.
The training on soil, crop, water, waste and pest management was organized for 25 farmers at Nandgad.
