Training and Programs:
Skill development programs were held in Ahmednagar, Bableshwar, Dakor, Pansora, Nandgad, Velim, Sidoni and Khedpa. Women were trained in jute bag making, pickles, papad, kokum syrup, soap making, and tailoring to promote self- employment. Microcredit business training included financial literacy, business planning, and SHG formation, equipping women to manage small businesses and participate actively in family and community decisions.
Self-help group and livelihood promotion:
Empowering women through SHGs is a key initiative of the Mumbai Province.
412 SHGs are active across Goa, Gujarat, Karnataka, and Maharashtra, involving 5,428 women.
117 SHGs function independently, while 334 receive regular support from centers.
A Womenโs Cooperative Bank in Dakor, Gujarat, with 200 members, is functioning successfully.
