Success Story of Dhanashree Shrivastav
đ December 31, 2019 ⢠đ Sahayini, Wadala
I am Dhanashree Shrivastav. I live in Sewri, Mumbai, in a joint family which is composed of nine members. My Mother lives apart from us because she is not accepted by the family for giving birth to a second girl child. My father works in an optical shop and he earns very little. From his little earnings he provides food and the necessary things that I need. My grandmother and two cousins are rude to me, even at times they cause me physical violence and donât give me food. Sometimes my father doesnât go to work so he doesnât get the money. At such times, I do some house- hold work at my neighbourâs house to earn and from the earned money of Rs 10 my father and me share one vadapav.
Mrs. Jyothi Gurav teacher from Anmol-Wadala used to visit the street children and motivate them to join the tuition class. So the opportune moment came in the person of Mrs. Jyothi who motivated me to attend the tuition class and also admitted me in the regular school. I started going to school and attended tuition classes after school at the Wadala campus. Now I am in Std. VII. Itâs 3 years since I have been in this tuition class under Sahayini. I feel safe and secure. I have improved my reading and writing skills. I take part in the various competitions in the school and in the tuition classes. I have learnt values like kindness, peace, solidarity and generosity. I feel loved and cared for by my teacher, sisters and classmates. In the tuition class we are taught to set goals for life and my goal in life is to be a Police officer who will be a voice to the voiceless and will be honest. I am studying well to fulfill my future dream.
