Farmers Training on Organic Farming

A one-day Farmers Training on Organic Farming was organized at Pansora on 30th October 2025 by Shyni Development, Bombay. A total of 40 farmers participated in the program.

The session commenced at 1:00 p.m. with a prayer, followed by a warm welcome to the resource persons Mr. Aniel from Zakara village, an organic farmer with over 15 years of experience, and Ms. Mahashbhi from Ardi village, who has been engaged in organic manure production for the past 5 years. Both shared their valuable experiences and inspired participants with practical insights into sustainable farming.

Topics Covered:

Introduction to organic farming and its practical application in the field

Developing and maintaining an organic kitchen garden

The importance of providing organic food to children

Understanding the root causes of illnesses and how organic food promotes better health

Cultivating traditional crops such as bajra and rice using organic methods

Preparation of Jeevamrut (natural fertilizer): A live demonstration showed that it can be produced within 10 days

The training enhanced farmers’ understanding of the benefits of organic farming and encouraged them to adopt eco-friendly and sustainable agricultural practices. Many participants expressed their commitment to taking small yet meaningful steps toward organic cultivation on their farms.

At the conclusion of the session, Sr. Shaila D’Monte expressed heartfelt gratitude to the resource persons for their time and dedication in raising awareness among farmers. Seeds and organic manure were distributed to all participants as a token of encouragement.
