NCP group formation and child protection program in Parabwadi

πŸ“… September 05, 2015 β€’ πŸ“ Parabwadi

This entry covers two Child Protection programs. On September 5, the NCP group was initiated in Parabwadi and Boudawadi (Ranbambuli). A short program was held for these 30 children, which was an opportune time to discuss child protection. A video clipping on good touch and bad touch was shown, followed by a discussion, during which the children were attentive and enthusiastically answered questions. Banners displaying different ways they can protect themselves were also on display. Another video clipping was shown on how an individual child can reach out to another and be happy by sharing and caring. The children were happy, promised their active participation, and the parents were ready to offer support. Snacks were served to the children. On September 8, a celebration of Girl Child Day was organized for the children in the Auxilium Girls Promotion Centre. It began with Marian games, which the girls enjoyed. Later, the boarders presented an apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe in a beautifully unique style. This was followed by a skit put up by the Community College girls, β€œJust because I am a girl,” which highlighted gender equality and the right to education. A visual presentation was shown to the girls to make them aware of different types of touch, especially the "secret touch," and how to respond in that situation, aligning with the Child Protection Policy. The girls were then divided into groups for discussion questions, which were later shared openly. It was a wonderful and memorable day, concluding with the singing of a Marian hymn and the distribution of cake.
