📅 July 15, 2015 • 📍 Pansora
Two hundred sixty women from 53 Self Help Groups (SHGs) across seven villages gathered enthusiastically on July 15, 2015, at Jag Prakash Kanya Chatralay - Pansora, for a program on “Women Empowerment,” aimed at raising awareness about various government schemes for women. The celebration began with a prayer invoking God’s grace and the lighting of the lamp. The Chief Guest was Fr. Joseph Appavoo, Director of Kaira Social Service Society, with Sr. Sunanda Solanki and Sr. Nayana Vankar, animators of the Dakor and Pansora communities, also present. The guests were welcomed with a shawl and bouquet, followed by a prayerful dance by the boarding children. Fr. Appavoo, in his talk, told the women they possess the power to do any work and are invaluable wealth to their families, as no one can take their place. A few cultural items followed. Mrs. Meena informed them about the available government schemes. Some SHGs shared their success stories. Finally, a PowerPoint presentation gave attendees a glimpse of the social ministry work done the previous year. To encourage the SHG women, each was given a tiffin box.
