Awareness seminar on child protection policy at Auxilium, LONAVLA

A three-hour awareness seminar was conducted for the staff of Auxilium, LONAVLA, on January 16, 2016, by Sr. Magdeline Sequeira and Mr. Roland Castelino from ‘Sahayini,’ the Province social development office. The seminar explored the FMA Child Protection Policy, sharing information on government policies for child protection, especially the stringent POCSO Act 2012, and various aspects of protecting children from harm. The main focus was the policy's implementation in schools and institutions, which was explained through PowerPoint presentations. The formation and functions of various commissions and the installation of a complaint box were detailed. A rapid-fire round ensured the policy was well understood by the teachers, and the interactive session clarified doubts. The seminar was truly enlightening and informative.
