Women’s Day celebration in BABLESHWAR

The celebratory day began on March 8 at 11:00 a.m. with the lighting of the lamp and a short prayer moment conducted by Sr. Asha D’Monte. Sr. Catherine Pereira welcomed everyone, including the 700 women (some accompanied by their husbands) and senior citizens of the parish. The Chief Guest, Rev. Sr. Moksha Mary Anthonappa, the Resource person, Mrs. Kaki Ghogare, Panchayat Samiti member, Mrs. Chandrakala Gaikwad, the helpful Dr. Shirsagar, and Mr. Salve of the Bharat Gas Sanchar, were honored with a shawl and coconut. The Mauli group of Astagaon performed a skit on the evils of the dowry system, and Mrs. Ghogare spoke strongly against it. Mr. Salve provided a beneficial demonstration and information on Gas cylinders for the large gathering of rural women. Mrs. Gaikwad spoke about the Self Help Group (SHG) and relevant schemes. After lunch, the day continued with a Dandiya dance, a fashion show, and finally, spot prizes and games organized by Sr. Moksha, who encouraged the gathering to do good and be grateful, generously distributing many prizes and gifts. The happy day concluded at 5:00 p.m.
