International Women’s Day celebration at Auxilium, Baroda

International Women’s Day (IWD) was celebrated at Auxilium – Baroda on March 9, 2016, with approximately 300 women present starting around 2:00 p.m. At the entrance, each woman was welcomed with a friendship band, which they affectionately tied on each other’s wrists. Mrs. Sonal Trivedi, a Sanskrit teacher from the school, was the Chief Guest. The program began with a prayer dance performed by women from the Self Help Groups (SHGs). Sr. Salome D'Souza, the community animator, cordially welcomed the large gathering. Sr. Kalyani organized lively games and action songs. Three video-clippings were screened, conveying valuable messages regarding dowry and early marriages. Mrs. Trivedi spoke about the woman’s role as the backbone of the family, promoting unity, love, and respect. Prizes were awarded for different competitions conducted for the SHGs throughout the year. The afternoon was enjoyed with fun and joy.
