On the evening of May 20, 2016, Sahayini Social Development Society, the Social Wing of the Salesian - Auxilium Sisters in Mumbai, collaborated with the International Women's Group for Peace (IWGP) based in South Korea. The goal was to mobilize women and students to promote Peace and advocate against war. The Signatures for Peace campaign was conducted at the following centers: Wadala and Bableshwar in Maharashtra; Dakor and Pansora in Gujarat; and Nandgad in Karnataka. Groups met and sang a community song for unity and peace. Animators from each center gave speeches with examples, discussing global issues, the origins of wars, and urging the groups to discuss the effects of war to solidify their commitment to peace in the world, their families, and their neighborhoods. The womenโs groups were enthusiastic about the program. The session concluded with another song of Peace, followed by the sign-up. Approximately one thousand signatures were collected.
