Workshop for youth at risk (YAR) staff on child protection

A workshop for Sisters and staff involved in the Youth at Risk (YAR) or street kids project was organized by Sr. Magdeline Sequeira and Sr. Moksha Anthonappa at Auxilium - Wadala on July 2–3, 2016, with 12 participants. Sr. Rosaline Pereira conducted a session on Motivation, offering techniques for self-motivation and motivating children. Sr. Moksha provided a briefing on the Child Protection Policy (CPP) and its implementation. Mr. Vorochan Raote, a member of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) Sub Urban, Mumbai, clearly explained the CWC's role in the district for providing child care and protection. Ms. Steffi Sequeira, a Clinical Psychologist and Counselor from Karunya Trust, addressed Child Psychology, focusing on children's family backgrounds and resulting behavior. Sr. Magdeline Sequeira continued the CPP session using video clips and modules developed at the Training of Trainers (TOT) in Wellington. Representatives from various centers shared their annual reports via PowerPoint presentations. The workshop concluded with a brief evaluation and feedback, where participants expressed sincere gratitude before ending the day with the song, 'Hum Honge Kamyab...' (We Shall Overcome).
