VTC coordinators workshop on skilling the youth in today’s context

A VTC Coordinators Workshop was held at Auxilium, Pali Hill, Bandra on July 8–9, 2016. The event began with a meaningful prayer led by Sr. Rosaline Pereira. Sr. Shiny Alphonse welcomed the gathering on behalf of the Auxilium community. Sr. Magdeline Sequeira, the VTC Coordinator, introduced the theme, 'Skilling the Youth in Today’s Context,' outlining 10 essential skills for proficiency. Sr. Rosaline Pereira reviewed the Quest Alliance Project and addressed queries. Mr. Amar Prabhu, Principal of Kurla ITI, provided valuable insight into Government Policies and Quality Assurance through the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF), aimed at improving institutional administration and service delivery to young people. Sisters from various centers shared their annual reports and enhancement proposals. Sr. Rita Mascarenhas introduced a new software technology. The following day, after viewing a short clip on 'Walk the Talk,' Sr. Catherine Fernandes presented a session on 'Motivation Skills in Management,' using a presentation and video clip to explain how to motivate employees. Sr. Sunanda Solanki then presented the SKIP (Skills for Progress) program. A game was used to demonstrate how to conduct creative sessions. Mr. Sydney, a representative of the Times of India CSR division, introduced the 'Teach India Programme,' focusing on English Skills for Employability. Following this, Mr. Sunil Behi, Director of SRK People Consultants India, detailed new courses scheduled to commence soon. Participants thanked the Community and Sr. Magdeline Sequeira for organizing the workshop.
