Annual social ministry meeting for local coordinators and animators

The Annual Social Ministry meeting for local Coordinators and Animators was held at MYC – Wadala on August 4–5, 2016. The event began with a prayer moment led by Sr. Rosaline Pereira. Sr. Hilda Braganza, the MYC animator, welcomed the assembly with a message about being sources of hope and joy, like the rainbow. Provincial Sr. Ritha Dora Thomas was warmly welcomed with a friendship band. Sr. Magdeline Sequeira, the Social Development Province Co-ordinator, conducted a session on Team Building, addressing difficulties encountered by Animators and Coordinators, which were resolved with the Provincial’s guidance. Sr. Catherine Fernandes presented on Motivational Skills in Management, covering management styles and reward systems. Sr. Elphina Rodrigues clearly explained the procedure for establishing the Child Protection Committee in the centers. Miss Levanica D’Souza, a Communication Expert, led an excellent session with engaging games on Team Building and Effective Communication. Sr. Aruna Castelino of Auxilium Outreach motivated the group regarding IGPs (Income-Generating Programs). Sr. Rita Mascarenhas introduced a new therapy integrating healthcare into the mission, utilizing colors and natural elements mentioned in the Bible. Sr. Moksha Anthon conducted a session on reporting, documentation, and budgeting procedures. For the first time, the SDO recognized and rewarded the three best Centers for their excellent reporting and documentation: Dakor, Pansora, and Baroda. Additionally, ten deserving Centers with coaching classes received financial aid and planning guidance for upcoming events like the Teen Mela, Child Protection Policy implementation, and staff training. The two-day meeting was fulfilling and highly informative.
