Day 2 - NDF Meet: Placement Strategies and HR Policies

Day two of the NDF Meet on March 18, 2018, was a productive and pleasant day. Mr. Sameer Kumar (Placement Officer, Quest Alliance) led the morning session on Placement Strategies and Mobilization. Though participants considered the topics familiar, Mr. Kumar's training provided new and profound insights into the field. His presentation highlighted employer demands and customer requirements, emphasizing the need for quality to achieve success in the workplace. Key points for Mobilization included: screening trainee batches, generating interest in future jobs, specifying age limits for adult workers, and addressing the common issue of trainee relocation reluctance. Strategies for mobilization were stressed as crucial for attracting trainees and improving public perception of employment. Mr. Kumar concluded his talk with a practical workshop for four groups on different themes, followed by a group photo. The afternoon session on Human Resource Management (HRM) was animated by Ms. Renita Coutinho (HR, Organica Biotech Pvt Ltd). She began with a practical exercise where members identified a negative point for group sharing. Groups were then tasked with finding strategies to overcome three negative character traits. After the break and individual introductions focused on expectations for the meeting, Ms. Coutinho clearly explained the modern importance of HRM. She noted that while HRM was previously undervalued, it is now a crucial company function. Its key components include: Attraction, Selection, Training, Assessment, and Rewarding people. She emphasized that HR is the face of the organization, responsible for developing skills, competencies, and promoting team spirit. The session concluded with Sr. Igina Kharjana thanking Ms. Coutinho for her knowledgeable presentation.
