September 13, 2016, marked a significant day for Auxilium Youth Animation Centre, Dahanu, with the official inauguration of the Hospital Assistance Course. Twenty-five young tribal girls from different Padas of Dahanu joyfully registered. The event was supported by the presence of their parents, teachers, Sisters, the Parish Priest, and doctors who encouraged the youngsters in this self-sustainable course. The inaugural ceremony included a special Indian tradition. Dr. Abijit Chauhan, Taluka Health Officer and Chief Guest, lit the lamp alongside the Superior Sr. Joanita Antao, Asst. Health Officer Dr. Wagh, and Sr. Mangal Kolge, the Course Directress. The girls then lit their own candles from the main lamp, symbolizing their readiness to bring hope to those affected by poverty, sickness, and illiteracy. In his speech, Dr. Chauhan encouraged the students to be honest, dedicated, and patient with patients, and offered his cooperation for the trainees' practicals and job placement. Rev. Fr. Johnny Nigrel, the Parish Priest, commended the initiative, advising parents to embrace the training provided in the light of God, which would enable their daughters to become good human beings working for societal welfare. Dr. Wagh shared the principle: 'Do unto others what they would not be able to repay you,' and quoted the maxim, 'Ishwar sevah ish kari jan seva' (Service to God is service to Humanity). Each girl received a Nursing coat. The event also featured the traditional Tarpa dance, performed enthusiastically by the youngsters. A fraternal meal, thoughtfully contributed and lovingly prepared by the girls themselves, concluded the gathering.
