Year of mercy celebrated with self help groups in Ahmednagar

September 29, 2016, was a memorable day for the women of the Self Help Groups (SHGs) in Ahmednagar. To celebrate the Jubilee Year of Mercy, the Sisters of Laura Vicuna Niwas – Savedi organized a day for the women to understand, experience, and demonstrate mercy towards others. Many women from different villages gathered at St. Ann’s Church at 10:30 am. Fr. James Tuscano Sdb explained the significance of the Door of Mercy, followed by a solemn entry into the church with a meaningful hymn. Fr. James then spoke eloquently on the topic, 'Jesus, the merciful face of the Father,' referencing the Gospel. Video clippings on Mercy were also viewed. Fr. Augustine, the Parish Priest, shared relevant stories illustrating how to practice mercy in society. The women expressed great gratitude for this spiritual enrichment.
