SHG leaders’ enrichment program on child protection awareness

Thirty-five SHG leaders, secretaries, and teachers gathered at Maria Bhavan – Bableshwar on October 18, 2016, for an enrichment program. Catherine Pereira, Coordinator of the SHGs, welcomed the participants and delivered a session on Child Protection Awareness. Using video clips and charts, she made the women aware of the need to protect their children, empower them to help themselves and others, recognize the problems children face, understand sexual abuse and abusers, and emphasized the importance of spending time with and listening to their children. An open forum was held to address questions and doubts posed by the audience.
