📅 March 20, 2018 • 📍 India
The fourth day of the NDF Meet on March 20, 2018, focused on Fundraising. Ms. Rose Gomes, an expert on the subject, provided practical knowledge and fostered confidence in the participants through realistic workshops presented at the general assembly. She detailed various fundraising techniques and strategies to attract donors, including role-playing demonstrations to clarify best practices and explaining the rules and regulations. Key techniques highlighted were: 1. Starting fundraising with small denominations. 2. Engaging with large corporations by registering with them. 3. Maintaining visibility and transparency when collecting funds for the needy. 4. Utilizing platforms like Global Giving India, Giving Tuesday, and the Wish Tree Technique. 5. Employing emotional expression to connect with and motivate donors. Participants enjoyed snacks provided by a nearby community on campus, who welcomed the group warmly and offered delicious homemade treats. Ms. Gomes also taught business etiquette for corporate interactions. Following her session, provinces were tasked with preparing a hypothetical fundraising project proposal. Ms. Rose then introduced Ms. Chaula, who led psychometric games related to fundraising. One game emphasized positive thinking and self-confidence, where each participant wrote an affirmative sentence to practice daily, such as “I am rich.” The session concluded with a group photo and a vote of thanks for both resource persons, who expressed satisfaction with the positive feedback from the evaluation sheets.
