Children’s day celebration in Velim

The Children's Day celebration in Comiabhat village began on the evening of November 14, 2016, following a short prayer on the theme 'Children are a Gift from God.' The event was organized by Sr. Macline D'Souza and the SHG women for the 150 children from their five villages in Velim. The SHG women welcomed the children with a song and a 'Kunbhi' dance, and also delivered a presentation on child safety using relevant examples. Various games, including spot prizes, were enjoyed by the children, followed by a skit titled 'Today's Children are Tomorrow's Good Citizens.' The children were served snacks and a soft drink. Following the prize distribution, each child received a pouch as a token of love. The children felt loved and accepted, returning home happy and grateful to their parents and the Sisters for making them feel special.
