13th FMA-NDF annual meeting in Shillong

From November 27–30, 2016, the 13th FMA-NDF Annual Meet was held in Shillong. Six FMA heads of the Social Development Office and representatives from six Provinces participated, including Srs. Magdeline Sequeira, Rita Lobo, Moksha Anthonappa, and Rosaline Pereira from the Bombay Province. The main focus was drafting the National Perspective Plan, which involved the presentation of Five-Year Plans by all Provinces. The welcome address was delivered by Sr. Isabella Alphonse, the National Development Forum Coordinator. The keynote address was delivered by Mr. A. L. Hek, Local MLA and representative of the Ministry of Social Welfare. Sr. Isabella Suja, Provincial of Shillong, presented a message and released the 12th Annual Report. She quoted the late Abdul Kalam: 'Courage to discover the impossible, courage to combat problems and succeed.' For the next two days, Fr. Joe Xavier SJ, the FMA NDF Consultant, led sessions to draft the five-year plan, explicitly focusing on three key points: Organization, Governance, and Programs. The following two days included presentations of Province reports and a session on the Financing Plan led by Mr. Joachim of Via Don Bosco. The participants also had an exposure visit to the SOS Village. The meeting concluded with a valedictory function after a fruitful stay in Shillong.
