Christmas celebration at AYAC, Dahanu

📅 December 17, 2016 • 📍 DAHANU

Christmas joy filled AYAC Square as 215 tuition children from remote villages gathered on December 17, 2016. Each child expressed the overwhelming joy of belonging to the FMA Family. Adding to the delight, this marked the first time that all the centers had gathered together. The program began with a reverent enactment of the Birth of Christ by students from the Kankaradi tuition center, accompanied by carols. Although participants were from various faiths, all attentively watched and sang during the depiction of the Great Day in Bethlehem. Teachers prepared the children for a skit on 'Swach Samaj' (Clean Society), a poem presentation on the God-Man, and the Tarpa dance—all expressions of gratitude for their educational growth and value-based living. Prize-winning games for children and teachers were conducted, cheering everyone throughout the event. We thank Steven, Teacher Neeta, and Mr. Valerian and his daughter for meticulously conducting the games. Mr. Steve, a well-wisher, added special support with his energy and engagement, conveying the message to youngsters: 'Make God your friend.' The well-decorated Christmas tree, glitter, and colors further enhanced the festive joy. Each child graciously received a Christmas gift and snacks for the journey home. We acknowledge and appreciate the support of SDO Mumbai Province, especially Sr. Magdeline Sequeira and her team, which made it possible to open nine tuition centers in Adivasi-populated villages. A few days prior, an orientation program for the center teachers was conducted. The resource person, Sr. Teresa Joseph FMA, focused on the significance of each child, viewing education as a relationship, and positioning the teacher as a special reference point for the students.
