Inauguration Day at Auxilium Girls’ Community College, OROS

On July 9, 2018, the Auxilium Girls’ Promotion Centre organized an inauguration day at OROS for the new batch of nursing students. The programme began at 11:00 AM. Mr. Mahesh Chauhan from the Lupin Foundation was the Chief Guest, and Dr. Simon Rodrigues from the Civil Hospital, OROS, was the Guest of Honor. The event commenced with a short prayer, and the guests were welcomed with flower bouquets. Mr. Chauhan emphasized the need for generosity and service towards the sick. He also noted that the "Auxilium Community College" provides a superior education compared to other institutions, praising the students for choosing the nursing profession. Dr. Rodrigues discussed the hospital's rules and stressed that nursing is not merely a job but a dedicated service to the sick, referencing the dedication of Mother Teresa of Kolkata. Two recent alumnae shared their experiences, expressing joy and fulfillment in caring for the sick and thanking the Sisters and trainers for their guidance. Their comment, "above all we can now speak in English," received a thunderous applause. Sr. Priscilla Travasso (Manager) and Sr. Sera Menezes (Course Coordinator) addressed the new students and their parents, outlining the rules and regulations of the hostel and classes. The new students were formally welcomed, and the programme concluded with snacks.
